New Hire Referral Bonus
(For Existing Employees)
Payout Details:
Hire on for what Virginia Transportation considers an experienced and qualified candidate will earn you $1000 the pay period that the referral finishes orientation, followed by two installments of $2000 at both the 90 day and 6-month marks of active employment. Both the referral and the referree must be actively employed at the time of payouts.
Experienced Driver Requirements:
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license.
- One full year of auto hauling experience in a 9 or 10-car stinger with a larger reputable and verifiable company specializing in new car inventory, as determined by Virginia Transportation.
- Clean motor vehicle record (18 months).
- Strong and committed employment history.
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Must meet all DOT requirements and qualifications, including a current valid med card.
- Minimum of 2 years of current CDL Class A driving experience in the past 3 years.
- Must reside in an area where there are open positions.
- Must have or obtain a TWIC Card prior to arrival (Canadians are exempt from this requirement).
Terms & Conditions:
Applications must be submitted by 11/30/24 and New Hire Orientation must be completed by 12/31/24. Referral must have a minimum of 2 years CDL-A driving experience and 1 year verifiable Auto Hauler stinger experience within the last 2 years. The required stinger experience must involve hauling new freight through a verified and reputable company, as determined by Virginia Transportation. Rehire, training candidate, 4 car driver, and non-driver candidate referrals are not eligible for the $5,000.00 Referral Bonus. A ‘Rehire’ is defined as anyone who has worked at Virginia Transportation within the last 3 years. A referral’s qualifications will be determined by the recruiting and operations teams. All incentives are subject to change at any time at the discretion of Virginia Transportation Management.

Auto Hauler Jobs -Â Description
As a Virginia Transportation Corporation Auto Hauler, you will be responsible for transporting vehicles between ports, rail yards, terminals, dealerships, etc. Drivers coordinate with our operations, administration, and dispatch teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of our customers’ vehicles.

Valid & Clean CDL-A Required
Strong and Committed Work History Required
Minimum 2 Years of CDL-A Driving Experience Within the Last 3 Years Required
Minimum of 1 Year Auto Hauler Stinger Experience Within the Last 2 Years Required*
Fast Pass or Passport Required for any Auto Hauler Who Wishes to Cross the US/Canadian Border
Must Pass a Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Screening
Must Be Able To Read, Write, Speak, and Understand the English Language Sufficiently to Converse with the General Public, to Understand Highway Traffic Signs and Signals, to Report and Respond To Officials, and to Make Entries on Reports and Records.
*Auto hauler stinger experience must be hauling new car freight with a company that Virginia Transportation Corporation Management deems reputable.
