Current Incentives

Payout Details:
Hire on for what Virginia Transportation considers an experienced and qualified candidate will earn you $1,000.00 paid after New Hire’s completion of orientation, $2,000.00 paid after New Hire’s completion of 90 days of active employment, and $2,000.00 after New Hire’s completion of 180 days of active employment with Virginia Transportation. Both the referral and the referee must be actively employed at the time of payouts.

Experienced Driver Requirements:

• Valid CDL Class A driver’s license.
• One full year of auto hauling experience in a 9 or 10-car stinger with a larger reputable and verifiable company specializing in new car inventory, as determined by Virginia Transportation.
• Clean motor vehicle record (18 months).
• Strong and committed employment history.
• Must be at least 23 years of age.
• Must meet all DOT requirements and qualifications, including a current valid med card.
• Minimum of 2 years of current CDL Class A driving experience in the past 3 years.
• Must reside in an area where there are open positions.
• Must have or obtain a TWIC Card prior to arrival (Canadians are exempt from this requirement).

Terms & Conditions:

Fine Print: Applications must be submitted by 11/30/25, and New Hire Orientation must be completed by 12/31/25. Referrals must meet the following criteria: 1) Have a minimum of 2 years CDL-A driving experience. 2) For the $5000.00 New Hire Referral Bonus: Must meet all above requirements as outlined for the $5000.00 Referral Bonus. Rehire, training candidate, 4 car driver, and non-driver candidate referrals are not eligible for this $5000.00 bonus. 3) A ‘Rehire’ is defined as anyone who has worked at Virginia Transportation within the last 3 years. 4) Referral qualifications will be determined by the recruiting and operations teams. 5) Referrer’s name must be on referee’s application prior to Orientation start. 6) All incentives are subject to change at any time at the discretion of Virginia Transportation Management.

Both the referral and the referee must be actively employed at the time of payouts.

Experienced 4 Car Driver Requirements:

• Valid CDL Class A driver’s license.
• One full year of auto hauling experience in a 4 car hauler with a larger reputable and verifiable company specializing in new car inventory, as determined by Virginia Transportation.
• Clean motor vehicle record (18 months).
• Strong and committed employment history.
• Must be at least 23 years of age.

• Minimum of 2 years of current CDL Class A driving experience in the past 3 years.
